Etienne Coffy received a Best Student Paper Award during the IEEE Ultrasonics Symposium that was held in Tours from September 18 to 21, 2016.
The IEEE Carl Hellmuth Hertz Ultrasonics Award is intended for primary investigators that have contributed to the field of ultrasonics. Vincent Laude was presented with the award during the IEEE Ultrasonics Symposium in Tours, France. The citation reads "For substantial contributions to the physics of phononic crystals and of the interaction of sound and light".
The May 2016 issue of Comptes Rendus Physique, an international peer-reviewed journal of the French Academy of Sciences published by Elsevier, is devoted to phononic crystals. The special issue was coordinated by Vincent Laude, a research director at CNRS and a member of the Micro Nano Sciences & Systems department of FEMTO-ST.
Locally-resonant opacity and transparency in acoustic metamaterials
Band gaps and waveguiding of surface acoustic waves in pillars-based phononic crystals
