Welcome to new Phd student Thomas Sivier !

Thomas Sivier

My name is Thomas Sivier and I come from Saint-Etienne (France).

After completing a bachelor's degree in chemistry, I continued my studies with a master's degree in biomedical engineering.

I did my 2nd-year internship in Besançon entitled “Tumor on a perfused microchip”. The aim was to complexify the vessel design of a blood-brain barrier (bbb) microchip in a tumoral context, by using sacrificial materials.

After validating my Master's degree, I decided to stay in Besançon and seize the opportunity to continue working on the same project.

I'm now working for my Phd thesis in the BIND team of MN2S department, on the ''Development of a complex vascular microarchitecture in a physiological microdevice to study the impact of a tumoral context on the brain angiogenesis and blood-brain barrier''. The project goes further with the development of the bbb-on-chip, from the characterization of the device to the validation of the model for potentially using it as a drug assay tool.
