Dexterous Micro and Nano-Robotic systems are a particularly promising solution to study the properties of microscopic objects (<10µm) because they simulaneously enable to apply a mechanical stimuli and to perform multi-modal measurements. The associated challenges are considerable, particularly for the elementary characterization of natural and artificial fibers, microfibrils, carbon nanotubes, nano-antennas, membranes (graphene...), etc.
Works done by teams members cover different aspects, notably the advanced control of commercially availlable micro and nanopositioning robots, the developpement of innovative micro and nanopositoning systems, sensors ... Works cover applications in air, liquid and vacuum environements regading the application considered.
