We have demonstrated in 2017 that Surface Plasmon Resonance is a suitable method for real‐time, label‐free detection and identification of the specific subset of blood‐derived vesicles. By combining biochip approach to other complementary biophysical methods, like Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) and Mass Spectrometry (MS), it is possible to reach deeper biomolecular characterizations, proteome profilings and structural features of extracellular vesicles.
