Vincent Humblot is a graduate of the University of Liverpool where he received his Ph.D. degree in Chemistry in 2001 under the supervision of Professor Rasmita Raval, in the field of Surface Science and more particularly in the field of model heterogeneous catalysis. After a post-doctoral stay at the University of Liverpool specialized in chirality at surfaces, he was appointed junior researcher at the CNRS in France in 2004. From 2004 until 2019 he worked at the Surface Reactivity Laboratory at the Univeristy Pierre et Marie Curie (now Sorbonne University) in Paris.
His research interests were focused on the surface functionalization with biomolecules to investigate the creation of antifouling surfaces in one hand, and to modify the expression of surface chirality in another hand. Since September 2019, he joined the FEMTO-ST institute, in Besançon, within the BioMicroDevices team (MN2S department), to apply his surface science and surface modification/characterization skills to devices developed in the BMD team, more specifically in the biosensors field and into the detection and characterization of biofilms.
